About — Indo-Bangla Treaty of Friendship

The Indo‑Bangla Treaty of Friendship, signed in 1972, is a bilateral agreement that formalised cooperation between India and Bangladesh after Bangladesh’s independence. It cemented mutual security, trade and cultural ties, and led to the establishment of the India‑Bangladesh Land Boundary Agreement in 2015, resolving long‑standing border disputes.
