About — Intangible Heritage

Intangible heritage comprises the living expressions, traditions, knowledge and skills that communities, groups and individuals recognize as part of their cultural identity. It sustains social cohesion, transmits values across generations, and enriches global diversity. For example, UNESCO inscribed Japan’s “Noh theatre” as an intangible cultural heritage in 2008.
