About — Kaleshwaram Project
The Kaleshwaram Project is a massive multi-purpose irrigation and hydroelectric scheme on the Godavari River in Telangana, India. It aims to irrigate over 2 million hectares, generate 1,800 MW of power, and supply drinking water to drought‑prone districts. The project's flagship lift‑irrigation scheme lifts water 500 m at the Kaleshwaram lift, the highest in the world.
