About — Kerala Folklore
Kerala folklore is the traditional performing arts, rituals, and oral narratives of the Indian state of Kerala. Its significance lies in preserving community identity, social values, and the syncretic Hindu‑Muslim‑Christian heritage of the region. A well‑known example is the ritual dance‑theatre of Theyyam, performed in northern Kerala with elaborate masks and trance states.
