About — Mahajan Commission
The Mahajan Commission was a judicial commission set up by the Indian government in 1972 to resolve long‑standing border disputes between the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka. Its recommendations, submitted in 1979, largely favored Maharashtra, influencing the later demarcation of the disputed Belgaum district.
