Mohan Bhagwat is the chief (Sarsanghchalak) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a right‑wing Hindu nationalist volunteer organization in India. Under his leadership since 2009, the RSS has expanded its membership and influence over political parties, notably the BJP. He famously advocated for a “cultural renaissance” in a 2020 speech urging Hindus to protect India’s heritage.
