About — National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Guidelines
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Guidelines are policy directives issued by the Indian government to standardise preparedness, response and mitigation across states. They provide a unified framework that enhances coordination and reduces loss of life and property. For example, they required every district to set up a Disaster Management Authority, which coordinated relief during Cyclone Amphan in 2020.
