About — National Mission on Cultural Mapping
The National Mission on Cultural Mapping, launched by the Ministry of Culture in 2021, aims to create a comprehensive digital inventory of India’s tangible and intangible heritage. By documenting sites, traditions and practices, it helps policymakers prioritize conservation and promotes community participation. As of 2023, over 1.5 million cultural assets have been recorded.
