About — National River Conservation Plan
The National River Conservation Plan (NRCP), launched in 1985, is a centrally funded scheme to improve water quality and ecological health of India's major rivers. It finances sewage‑treatment plants, riverfront development and pollution control; for instance, under NRCP the Ganga Action Plan funded 30 new treatment plants in the Delhi‑Ganga basin.
