Postcolonial literature comprises works produced in former colonies that interrogate the cultural, political, and psychological legacies of imperial domination. It reshapes literary canons by foregrounding marginalized voices, challenging Eurocentric narratives, and fostering a critical re‑examination of history. A seminal example is Chinua Achebe’s 1958 novel Things Fall Apart, which confronts the disruptive impact of British rule on Igbo society.
