About — Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram
It is a centrally sponsored scheme launched by the Government of India in 2019 to accelerate development in identified backward districts. It aims to improve infrastructure, livelihood and social welfare, bridging regional disparities. In its first phase, the program allocated ₹2,500 crore to 115 districts, funding projects such as road construction in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district.
