Shyam Prasad Mookerjee (1905‑1975) was an Indian civil engineer who led the construction of the Bhakra Nangal Dam, one of the country’s largest irrigation and power projects. His leadership helped transform northern India’s agriculture and energy supply; he later served as the first Indian chairman of the Damodar Valley Corporation.
