About — Social Audit
Social audit is a systematic, participatory evaluation of an organization’s social, environmental and ethical performance against its stated commitments. It enhances transparency, holds entities accountable, and informs stakeholders about real impacts. For example, India’s 2005 Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme used social audits to uncover widespread fund misappropriation, leading to corrective measures.
