About — Space Activities Act 1993
The Space Activities Act, 1993 is India's first law regulating launch, operation and commercial use of space by government and private entities. It creates licensing, liability and compliance rules consistent with international treaties, opening the market for private satellite launches. It facilitated the 2014 launch of India's first privately‑licensed small‑satellite mission.
