About — Strategic Height
Strategic height is the military advantage of occupying elevated terrain, which provides superior observation, range for weapons and defensive strength. Holding high ground can dominate surrounding areas and force opponents into disadvantageous positions. The 1944 Battle of Monte Cassino illustrated this, where control of the hilltop monastery gave the Allies a decisive artillery advantage.
