About ā Varuna Yagam
Varuna Yagam is a Vedic fireāsacrifice invoking the god Varuna, guardian of waters, to secure rain and protect water resources. It is traditionally performed by Brahmin priests using specific mantras and offerings of water, milk, and grains. In 2022 the ritual was staged at the Kumbakonam Mahamaham tank to pray for monsoon relief.
