CCTE’s Thorium‑HALEU Fuel ANEEL: Plug‑and‑Play Claim Sparks Nuclear Debate

Today Clean Core Thorium Energy and India's state‑run NTPC Ltd announced a strategic partnership to test and commercialise the ANEEL thorium‑HALEU fuel in existing pressurised heavy‑water reactors. The move marks the first large‑scale attempt to introduce thorium‑based fuel in India's nuclear fleet, potentially enhancing safety and reducing reliance on imported uranium. CCTE claims ANEEL can deliver up to six times the energy of conventional natural uranium fuel while requiring no reactor redesign.
