The Sino‑Indian War of 1962 was a brief but fierce border clash between China and India over the Himalayan frontiers of Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh. The war ended with a Chinese cease‑fire that secured Aksai Chin, spurred a major Indian military re‑organisation, and saw the Indian garrison at Walong hold out for weeks before falling.
